Quick Self-Confrontation materials overview
The Self-Confrontation manual is a 24-lesson reference, designed to direct you back to the Bible for daily living. Useful for personal growth and discipleship, Self-Confrontation will help you learn how the Bible is sufficient and applicable to produce lasting victory in every circumstance and relationship, no matter how difficult.
Self-Confrontation is the first level of BCF’s training. The primary emphasis is on examining every aspect of your own life. Self-Confrontation starts with the basics of salvation, examines the root of problems in our daily walks, and then applies principles to specific problem areas ranging from anger and relationship problems to fear & worry, depression, and life-dominating practices. The Self-Confrontation manual is an invaluable resource for personal and group study. With its wealth of Scripture references, it is also useful as an ongoing reference for topical study and lesson/sermon preparation. The companion Student Workbook for the Self-Confrontation Bible Study and audio/video recordings are designed to lead you through a personal life-application study of God’s Word, using the Self-Confrontation manual as a reference. Completion of the Student Workbook fulfills the homework assignments for each lesson.

Jesus, in His “Sermon on the Mount,” taught that our tendency is to “look at the speck” in our brother’s eye while we “do not notice the log” that is in our own eye.” He said “you hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye” (Matthew 7:1-5).
We can all relate to this. We constantly think that “the other person” is the problem. The way to true peace and joy is counter-intuitive to what the world tells us, which is “it’s all about me.” Instead, Jesus taught that it’s all about loving the Lord and others (Matthew 22:37-39). This is why “Self-Confrontation” has been the first level of BCF’s training for over 50 years. The primary emphasis is on examining every aspect of your own life, and in the process, you will be enabled to better help those around you. “Self-Confrontation” may not be a very popular title for a book, according to marketing experts, but you will find that there is true hope, not just feel-good hope, when we dig deeply into the Scriptures to find practical applications to the daily problems and challenges of life.

To live victoriously in a lasting, fruitful way, we first need to see how we have failed to live God’s way, hence the phrase “victory over failures.”
