When you think about it, all those security measures are great reminders to us of why the world needs a Savior.  Security exists because of a human propensity toward sin.

Taming the Text

So how do we resist the temptation to let our phones control our life? Let’s suppose I am with a group of friends, in the middle of a very significant conversation, and my phone is vibrating incessantly. What do I do?

Our smartphones, whether they be used for casual texting or posting on social media, are not exempt from biblical principles on speech. We can’t pretend that electronic speech doesn’t count just because iPhones and Facebook were not mentioned in the Bible.  We have tremendous opportunity to use technology as an extension of the literal tongue, to glorify God and to edify others.

Our Own “Ebola” Opportunities

Sometimes it is easier to exercise faith for the heroic effort than to face what we sometimes think of as the mundane routines of life.  
The beauty of the routine challenges of life is that they are everywhere. 

Who would go to treat Ebola patients?

Situations like the Ebola outbreak can serve as opportunities for believers to show how different and powerful a selfless, sacrificial love can be.  It is so powerful, because it shows the world, in practical terms, how God loves us. I John 4:19: “We love because He first loved us.”
